An Empty Feeling

POSTED BY: GIOVANI BERNARD in BLOG

After a busy few days in London, we are pumped to be back in the States and enjoying our bye week. The days in London leading up to the game were a pleasant surprise. I had no idea how deeply fans in London care about football. All of us came away with a great impression of all the fans in London.

As interesting as London itself was, the game on Sunday against the Redskins was a tough way to finish the week. To go through 4 quarters and an overtime is physically exhausting. For us to go through all of that and to come out on the other side with a tie is an empty feeling. The game Sunday didn’t leave us with the frustration of a loss, but it didn’t come with the excitement that follows a win. We went to battle for five quarters just to sit in the same place we were at before we kicked off.

There were some positives that came out of our game Sunday. It was great to see Tyler Eifert back on the field again. He’s one of our best weapons on offense and one of the most talented tight ends in this league. To top it all off, he’s a awesome guy and hard worker who is just as great off the field as he is on it. He picked up right where he left off last year and had more than 100 yards receiving and a TD.

AJ just keeps doing AJ things. It is almost unthinkable how he continually makes incredible plays over and over. His catch halfway through the 4th quarter with Josh Norman hanging all over him was unreal. The O-line keeps busting open holes for Jeremy and I as the running game continues to roll. We are excited about the second half of the season once we get back from our bye week.

As for me, I’m about to soak up some much needed rest. Thanks for all you do Bengal nation!!
